We are looking for Trustees and Volunteers to help build a better tomorrow for people in Cambridge.
Cambridge Aid is a small, highly effective, 140-year old local charity that helps vulnerable people with small grants for food, essential furniture, white goods, IT equipment, and other necessities. 99% of the funds we raise go directly to the people we help.
The charity has helped over 741 local people/families in 2020, with small grants (up to £200) that make a huge difference to their lives. To ensure that help is given quickly to people in urgent need, we work closely with other local organisations and charities such as Citizens Advice.
Cambridge Aid is made up of a small team of dedicated volunteers who are passionately committed to helping the most vulnerable people in our community.
We are seeking people with a wide range of skills – such as admin, bookkeeping, fundraising, or Trustee experience. In the future, volunteers may also perform the key roles of Chair, Treasurer, or Secretary, so it’s a great opportunity to learn new skills!
What is most important is your desire to help others and for you to have the time to read emails regularly, so you get to know how we work.
Feedback from users tells us that our prompt, flexible grants make a real, practical difference to the lives of local people experiencing financial crisis. As Trustees and Volunteers, we find it very rewarding to know that we are supporting some of the most vulnerable people in our community – and we are sure you will too.
