Join us and help vulnerable people in Cambridge We are looking for people to join our Board of Trustees.
Cambridge Aid is a small charity which has been around for 140 years. We are a dedicated group of Trustees who are passionately committed to helping the most vulnerable in our community. We are regularly given feedback that our help (relatively small amounts of money) can make a difference to people’s lives because it is given so promptly and flexibly.
We provide emergency financial grants to those in need from Cambridge city and its surrounding villages who are referred to us from 60 sponsoring agencies including Citizens Advice, Children and Family Centres, Social Services and charities for the homeless and disadvantaged. All our Trustees are volunteers and 99% of the funds we raise go directly to vulnerable people.
We are looking for experienced people who can in time develop to cover the key roles of Chair, Treasurer or Secretary when our current Trustees are away or when they eventually retire. We meet fortnightly on Fridays from 12.30 pm for a couple of hours near Cambridge station to consider applications and we have quarterly evening management meetings, but it is not necessary to attend every meeting.
As a Trustee we will give you:
The chance to improve the lives of impoverished people in need in the Cambridge and surrounding area.Induction and training.
